Under 10’s continue on from last week’s success
For the second time in as many weeks the u10’s Travelled away to take part in another festival this time making the journey over to Towcester, following the same format as Buckingham the coaches decided to keep the teams pretty much the same.
The two Banbury teams were set to play six games each and started from where they left off last week with strongly contested rucks some big tackles going in and the try’s flowing from the first whistle. Team 1 went into their second game full of confidence but not fully awake this led to only defeat of the day coming up against a very well drilled physical Huntingdon team going 3 try’s down in the first 5 minutes, after a few wise words from coach Blackburn you could call it a wakeup call the boys rallied together and looked to claw the game back but just coming up short with only 2 try’s in the remanding minutes.
Team 2 faced the same tough opposition but managed to remain unbeaten, they did need to defend hard against both Huntingdon and both Teams from Towcester with two very close games ending in draws
Today s Results again show how well this group of player are developing Tackling was still our main strength overall and with some great body positioning and superb technique in the Ruck and mauls.
recognition for some stand out efforts for Top Rucker/ Tackler went to our very own mini Hulk in the shape of Isaac Moran his technique in clearing out boys twice his size were a joy to watch and his brave commitment in the tackle was talking point for players, parents and even the referee picked him out as a true warrior. Player of the Tournament today was awarded to Elliot Shotton his presence at every breakdown was surly noticed stealing the ball from the opposition and rucking players out of the way proved to be a winning formula.
The festival ended with a try tally of 39 for and only 13 against across both teams so another successful day for the U10’s .
Well done Guys keep up the Hard work ……..
