This afternoon over 35 girls from local secondary schools came to Bodicote Park for a rugby taster event. After a warm up, the girls split into age groups and learned some of the basics of rugby, which they then tested out via drills and games. They were able to put these into practice in a game of touch rugby.

It was great to see the girls playing on pitch one. Matt Goode BRUFC Director of Rugby Activities lead the session with the support of Jack Hill, the new Regional Development Officer for WASPS Oxfordshire.

Special thanks to Emma Jackson from the North Oxfordshire Sports partnership for helping to contact local schools. Thanks also to teachers from Sibford School, The Warriner School and Wykham Park Academy for encouraging their students to join us for the afternoon and for championing female rugby in their schools.
