1. Opening Day
The Centenary Season successfully ‘kicked-off’ with a splendid day at Bodicote Park. Rob Udwin congratulated the Club on reaching this milestone and recognised the work put in by our small ‘army’ of volunteers to keep the Club running. The match between the President’s XV and Old Bloxhamists was also a success with Rugby Football being the undoubted winner! Presentations were made to the players by Paul Sanderson, Headmaster of Bloxham School. Souvenir Programmes from the day are available at the Club (or via our online shop - ClubOnlineShop) for anyone who was unable to be there. The only minor sad point of the day was running out of our ‘special brew’ – the Centenary Ale. Those of you who took a liking to it will be pleased to know that we are planning another brew in time for Christmas…

2. Merchandise
Our range of Centenary Merchandise has been well received and is selling well. We will be adding new Centenary items throughout the season so come and see us, or look online at the Club’s Web Shop (ClubOnlineShop). Standard Shop Opening Times from Monday 8th September will be 6-9pm Thursdays during training, 12 noon to 5pm Saturdays in our pitch side trailer, and 9am till 2pm on Sundays in the Club Shop. 3. Pre-match Lunches
Our ever-popular pre-match lunches will take the usual format throughout the season. Dates are shown below and bookings are now being taken: -

September 21st and 28th. October 19th. November 9th and 30th. December 14th. January 11th. February 1st. March 1st and 22nd.

4. BRUFC Golf Day
The Annual Golf Day is being held at Staverton Park Golf Club on Friday 13th September. The event is ‘sold out’ and I look forward to reporting the outcome in our October newsletter.

5. Social Events
We have an ambitious array of social events planned for the forthcoming months but these are obviously wholly dependent on levels of support from you, our members. To aid with the planning, it would help us enormously if we had a feel for the level of interest so PLEASE provide feedback on the proposed schedule of events sown below, and whether you are likely to attend: -

Friday 22nd November - Centenary Quiz (plus Fish & Chips supper)
Friday 6th December - Christmas Dinner & Dance
Sunday 22nd December - Traditional Christmas Singalong
Tuesday 31st December - New Year’s Eve Party
Friday 24th January - Burns Night

6. Membership
Subscriptions for 2024/25 are now due and you should have received an email with full details on how to pay. A special membership pack is available on payment of your subscription.

7. Centenary Wall
If you are interested in buying a ‘brick’ in our Centenary Wall, please complete and return the attached form.

8. Centenary Ball
There are less than 100 tickets remaining for our blue ribband event, the Centenary Ball. Please book early to avoid disappointment. The Ball will take place on Saturday 14th June 2025.
